Integrity (Elective) - Join the No Cussing Club
As a way to improve the Integrity of the people who are around me and spend time with me, I have signed up to the "No Cussing Club". I love how the example of one young man wants to make a difference in his own life as well as the lives of his friends.
If he can do it, I can do it too.

Knowledge #6 - Learn a Hymn
Christmas was a fun time to learn a Christmas song; My family for Christmas not only learned a song but learned about the history of "O Come all Ye Faithful" -
For centuries this song has come through the ages from Europe and England.

Jr. and Moana Feinga sang it to me when I was in Primary as our Home Teachers. I could feel the spirit of being and having Faith in the Lord. Over centuries the hymn is asking us to come unto Him with Faith and follow Him. As many know that the history and it was prophesied that Christ would be rejected by His people; But this hymn brings peace to me and to all that we need to "Come and Behold Him" and Believe in Him with Faith.

Knowledge #5 - Learning about what my Parents Do
I have never really spent the time to know what my parents do or the kind of employment they do to provide for my family and I. I know that outside of my parents employment their church callings have always been in service with the Scouting Program or in the Primary. But I have never really seen my parents in action at work or knew what they do. I only know that they work at the Library at the BYU-Hawaii Campus. And I visit once in a while with my brother Kaluna or my sister Karen.
My father is an Electrician by trade. He helps people that have electrical problems within their homes. But his full-time job is a Electronic Media Technician on campus. He is responsible for the electronic devices installed in the classrooms across the campus. This includes projectors, projector screens, TV's, recorders, DVD/CD Recorders, computers, speakers, camcorders, still image camera's and so forth. His trade as an Electrician helps him understand how things are installed and setup for the use of classroom users. My father received on the job training for his work as an Electronic Technician. He is currently attending school to finish is University Degree in Electronics. And my mom tells me that he is always done with his Degree. I hear my mother call a "Jack of all Trades a Master of None" - Well even though he is a Master of None - my father takes the time to find out how to fix things on his own because we are very limited with our finances to have a contractor do the work for us. My Dad has been able to repair and teach my family and I to make "do" with what we have. And I am grateful for that lesson.
My mother is an Artist by Trade. She has years of experience in Music. But she works as an Account Specialist at BYU-Hawaii Campus for the Information Technology Department. For years she has worked in Administrative Support positions such as Secretary, Office Clerk, Office Support Analyst, Clerk Typist, Receptionist and most recently Office Manager. Her title of Account Specialist is the newest position that she has been promoted to and her job has come from years of experience as well as training and a degree from college.
My mothers job as an account specialist is to assist and monitor the funds being spent used by the University for Information Technology Projects. Her job also includes routine accounting responsibilities such as paying the bills the use of Internet, maintenance and support renewals for software used on campus, and assisting Director's to be on task with their projects. Her job also means that she receives training and requires traveling to Provo, Utah each October and monthly reporting to the Church Office in Salt Lake City. She is very important on campus as she helps build the Lord's Kingdom with the advancement of technology on campus.
My mother has been a great example to my brothers and sisters with "DOING" the task of receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree in Office Management. She sacrificed her time in working to go back to school and she has told me and my brothers and sister that she could not have done so with out the help of our Heavenly Father and her own effort in search, pondering and taking it to the Lord to know that "timing" was the right thing to go forth and do.
I love both my mother and father for keeping their eye single to the Glory of God. Most of all I am grateful for their sacrifices that they make for me and my family.

Knowledge #4 - Understand a gospel principle better
In the month of October 2011 - our family has read the scriptures about Obedience. From the Book of Mormon, I have learned the importance of Obedience to the laws of our Heavenly Father. I have also learned about how if we disobey there are consequences to those things that we choose not to do.
I loved listening to the story of Nephi and his brothers that had to return to Jerusalem to get the plates of brass. I loved how Nephi wanted to do what his father commanded him to do because the Lord asked him to do it. And even though Nephi did not receive the direction directly from Heavenly Father, Nephi's courage and faith was what I saw how Nephi's love for the Savior and his Father Lehi gave him the strength to not fear and do what he can to retrieve the Brass Plates from Laban.
Nephi's obedience is and will be an example to me. I know that I am very limited in showing what I can do physically. But my heart and my mind is full of knowledge from the scriptures that is read to me each morning before my brother Kaluna goes to school. And I am so grateful that my Father leads my brother and mother and me to be in our scripture circle each morning to receive the word of God from reading the scriptures.

Being Healthy in 2011
Since the Temple Dedication in Nov 2011, I have been busy with the help of my mom and sister in staying healthy for the the whole year. It has been a trial for me, but I'm so grateful for the love and support of my family.
With the help of my mom and sister Karen, I have been on a strict diet so that I don't get sick as often. I am fed with a feeding tube and pump and it's important that I receive my feeding everyday in a timely manner. This is so I can keep up my strength both physically and spiritually.
I am so grateful for my parents and my family in doing their best for me in keeping healthy for the year of 2011; It's 2012 and I'm my goal is to finish my Young Women in Excellence this year. With the help of my mom and dad I have goals I want to complete in helping my family and my community.
It will be a good year for me and I am ready to "Rock and Roll"!!!!

Knowledge #1 - More on Gaining Knowledge
These scriptures have helped me understand the importance of Gaining Knowledge.
"2 Nephi 28:30. the will give us knowledge, line upon line, precept upon precept . . ."
The Lord doesn't give us all things all at once. He gives knowledge line upon line, precept upon precept. We receive all that we need to know based on our "time" or even through the experiences we go through when we need to go through them. The experience gives us knowledge and that is when we learn the most.
D&C 88:78-80 - "we are to be instructed more perfectly in theory, in principle and in doctrine of the things of heaven and earth . . ."
Knowledge is important so that we are prepared. What ever our journey is in life we are to be prepared.
The Lord wants us to know all things of both heaven and earth.
D&C 118 - ". . . preach from that hour, and if they will do this in all lowliness of heart, in meekness and humility, and long suffering, I, the Lord give unto them a promise that I will provide for their families; and an effectual door shall be opened for them, from henceforth."
The promises of gaining knowledge is that the Lord will provide for you and your families, and a door will be open unto you if you continue do learn and serve him in preaching others.
D&C 90:15 "And set in order the churches, and study and learn, and become acquainted with all good books, and with languages, tongues, and people."
The scriptures counsel us to "study and learn" and be acquainted with all good books, languages of tongue and people. Studying and learning will help us gain the knowledge we need to follow through our service in building the Lords Kingdom.
D&C 130: 18-19 "Whatever principle of intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection. And if a person gains more knowledge and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another he will have to much the advantage in the world to come."
All that we learn here on this earthly life, it will rise with us in the next life. The more knowledge we gain the advantage we will have in the next life.
D&C 131 :6 - "It is impossible for a man to be saved in ignorance".
No man can be saved by ignorance alone. It is not an excuse to say "I didn't know?" The knowledge we gain is our saving grace and the counsel we are given of gaining knowledge is to do more in serving others and improving ourselves.
The knowledge that I will gain through this life is through the help of others. Namely, my family, close friends, and my teachers who teach me at school and at church. I know that my purpose here is to observe and allow others the opportunity to be of service to me. But it is my family who will truly learn of this principle. For it is up to them to take the time to sit with me and gain the knowledge of service in my preparation when it is time for me to leave this earthly life. This was truly a great experience to listen to the scriptures that my mother has read to me about knowledge. I love and appreciate my family for helping me with these truths.

Knowledge #2 - Talents
My talent in the life is to remind people to never take things for granted. We may not always get what we want, but it is how we spend our time in doing good for others can we improve upon ourselves and individuals. The assignment was to share the kind of talents I have and of other people that I would like to develop.
It's difficult for my parents to know of my thoughts and how I would like to improve upon myself. But it's not difficult for me to see and observe the kind of talents of other people who surround me either at school or at or home or when I go to church.
My mom works hard. But she is the one that I notice that works hard and tries to keep a balance of caring for me, my home, and the things at work. There are so many things that I can share about. My mother has the talent of a pianist, organizer, care giver; coordinator and just being my mom. She is caring for me and those who are like me with special needs.
I'm very happy to share my sister and mother's talents because they both are fore me. My family gets a chance to see the talents that I have developed and also whatever training she shares with me.
The more you know the more you are expected. My mother and my sister are very artistic and creative people.
